10% Air travelThe Senior Manager - Global Products is responsible for managing the activated carbon products and services lines offered by Calgon Carbon/Chemviron/KCM, for an assigned set of product families, on a global basis.
The Senior Manager - Global Products must demonstrate broad internal and market-specific knowledge (assets, technologies, applications, channels to market, etc.
).
The Senior Manager - Global Products has four key objectives:
1) Support the company in maximizing margin, profitability and growth on the assigned material families.
2) Maintain the high-quality standards of the Calgon Carbon brand by managing the global product range and associated specifications, documentation.
3) Manage business working capital by controlling and lead the inventory management activities.
4) Champion global projects and initiatives relating to asset and capital utilization to meet the new mid-term plan growth expectations.
Duties and Responsibilities (not limited to) For their assigned material families, the GPM will liaise with the other PMs and our commercial teams to understand market needs, quality requirements and pricing positioning Support Sales in developing and maintaining business by providing rational and cost-effective solutions that best utilize existing products and asset base Offer tendering assistance for major opportunities, including material selection and pricing determination, by advising of product availability or proposing alternative products, specifications and or supply options For their assigned material families, the GPM will liaise with the other PMs and our commercial teams to understand market needs, quality requirements and pricing positioning Support Sales in developing and maintaining business by providing rational and cost-effective solutions that best utilize existing products and asset base Offer tendering assistance for major opportunities, including material selection and pricing determination, by advising of product availability or proposing alternative products, specifications and or supply options The incumbent has a functional responsibility for the regional product managers dealing with the assigned material families The incumbent is an integral part of the management team that develops the objectives and implements the programs with the Business Lines to achieve sales and profit plans GPM should champion global projects, including capital projects justification for manufacturing upgrades/expansions (sales based) and assure final costs (capital and future production) align with intended market sales Project management in support to large scale or specific projects Lead projects with R&D and/or Manufacturing that involve product quality issues, customer complaints or capacity utilization Define and communicate business line needs and strategy (material portfolio, market demand, product specifications, testing requirements, cost limits) for products and communicate to Sales, Manufacturing and Global Purchasing Develop, maintain, and ensure effective implementation of sound methodology to guide customer product offerings (virgin, react, further processed, domestic vs outsourced, etc) Understand manufacturing capabilities and cost levers.
Assist Manufacturing in maintaining accurate product cost information Support bid and project activities Review assets volume allocations with Logistics Liaise with Procurement to guide outsourced products and services(grinding, testing, etc.
) Manage and maintain the required product certifications NSF, UL, AWWA, IMO) Rationalize creation of new product specifications vs standard products Be the gatekeeper to minimize working capital and maximize margin Qualifications A bachelor's degree (B.
